The Concordia Ball Night's Program on Friday, June 8th 2018
Press Club Concordia, an organisation of Austrian journalists and writers, has been holding a traditional Viennese ball at the Vienna City Hall for over 150 years. As one of the few summer balls in Vienna, around 2,000 guests attend every year, including well-known representatives from politics, business, arts & culture and the media.
The elegance of the occasion with glittering decoration and beautiful dresses proves to be a spectacular attraction and guarantees real dancing pleasure. And that in one of Vienna's most beautiful ball locations: The Vienna City Hall. The exquisitely decorated halls provide plenty of room for dancing the night away, or alternatively, the inner courtyard magically transforms into an outdoor dance floor.

Do you have any favourite dance but no companion for it? Or would you simply like to dance with a different gentleman?
The Concordia Ball offers an 'Isle of Men' – outstanding dance partners will be available to dance waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha cha, rumba, samba or boogie with our female guests.
Artists & Musicians
Chris Lachmuth: Dancing School Chris
Dance has been part of this former tournament dancer's life since childhood. Together with the Dancing School Chris, he will stage the impressive Opening Ceremony of the Concordia Ball. The Dancing School Chris offers year-round and daily opportunities to learn – or simply improve – one of the most famous traditional dances.
Uwe Theimer: The Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra
The Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra, founded in 1982 and directed by Uwe Theimer, devotes itself to performing dance music of the 18th and 19th centuries in Europe and around the world. The orchestra's repertoire includes compositions from the Strauss dynasty and its contemporaries, music from Robert Stolz and popular pieces from operettas. The orchestra has performed in most major European cities, as well as around the world.
Norbert Hebertinger: pt art orchestra
The pt art orchestra, foundet in 1924 and directed by Norbert Hebertinger, provides a wide repertoire of music for various events in Austria and abroad. Special features are string players and international vocal artists accompanying the orchestra. Be it as dance, brass or philharmonic orchestra, pt art is internationally acknowledged for its flexibility, longstanding experience and swinging evergreens.
Charly Hloch Trio
Charly Hloch on piano, Gerhard Wessely on sax and Wolfgang Bäck on drums bring you boogie woogie, blues, rock'n'roll and, especially for the Concordia Ball, danceable, groovy, jazz classics and swinging evergreens.
Christian Oberndorfer aka TJ Monoxid
As integral part of the Viennese Tango Argentino scene for over 15 years, he plays tango at events throughout Austria and Germany. His typical tangos, valses and milongas of the 30s, 40s and 50s are of high-quality shellac and vinyl digitization. This ensures an energetic and authentic atmosphere on the dance floor.
